Monitoring before the construction of a dwelling-house took place at Curraghmore East. The site is near an enclosure. The development consisted of an access road, the house area and a septic tank. The percolation area had previously been excavated. In the area of the access road and septic tank the topsoil consisted of a dark brown, sandy silt, with some in situ burning, averaging 0.25m deep. This overlay a mottled yellow clay, a yellow sandy clay and a grey/white clay. In the area of the house the topsoil consisted of a mid-brown sandy silt, 0.25–0.4m deep. This overlay an orange/mid-brown, sandy silt, with sporadic patches of a grey clay. Nothing of archaeological significance was observed.
