This site at Cregboy was identified during field-walking of the corridor of Section 2 of the Pipeline to the West before topsoil-stripping. The site lay directly in the proposed route of the development and consisted of a low arcing bank of stones on a natural platform of rock outcrop. Testing, in the form of three trial-trenches, took place on 2 April 2002. All of the trenches were excavated to an average depth of 0.2–0.35m and revealed a thin layer of sod and topsoil overlying a natural shattered bed of limestone bedrock. No finds were retrieved from any of the trenches, nor was there any evidence of archaeological material. The outcrop visible on an aerial photograph as a circular feature appears to be an entirely natural formation. The low bank of stone to the south of the site is equally unremarkable, probably formed as a result of field clearance.
