A fulacht fiadh with associated burnt-mound material was identified during the monitoring of trial-pits, topsoil-stripping and drainage trenches carried out on the second contract of the Airport–Balbriggan Bypass. A subcircular trough, 1m in diameter, was identified. This contained a fill of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil.
