Excavation was undertaken in Skidoo, north County Dublin, before development works. The site was identified during monitoring of groundworks (No. 679, Excavations 2002, 02E0285). A 9m portion of a single linear feature, a flat-bottomed ditch, 2.6m wide and 0.45m deep and aligned north-north-west/south-south-east, was uncovered. This ditch contained up to eight fills, which can be divided into two groups: the first comprised humic fills containing charcoal and animal bone, and the second comprised more sterile, sandy silts. It is hoped that the results of further environmental analysis will aid in the interpretation of this feature.
