This site was tested on 9 July 2002 as part of the preparation of an environmental impact statement for the proposed new DĂșn Laoghaire Golf-Course. The site is marked as an oval enclosure (c. 32m long; c. 24m wide), planted with trees, on the OS 6-inch map series. It was still upstanding in 1972 when captured on an aerial photograph by the Fairey Survey of Ireland. There are now no visible traces of the site.

Three trenches were excavated to determine the nature and extent of the site. The topsoil came directly down onto the subsoil in all cases, and no features or deposits of archaeological interest or potential were uncovered. The matrix of topsoil in the southern half of Trench 1 consisted of a spread of loose, small stones. It is possible that the spread represents a levelled wall or bank of stone and soil. Given the absence of archaeological features, coupled with the fact that the site is depicted on the OS maps as being planted with trees, it is suggested that the site was a tree ring or similar landscape feature.
