Monitoring of topsoil-stripping during road construction revealed several areas of charcoal-stained subsoil. Excavation uncovered a ditch with a crescentic plan and a causeway to the east. An internal rectangular structure was indicated by post-holes, as was a possible funnel-shaped entrance feature. It is possible that the site originally extended to form a circular plan but was truncated. Two leaf-shaped arrowheads were uncovered on the subsoil surface to the east of the ditch. The site is tentatively dated to the later prehistoric period.
