An assessment was completed before the redevelopment of the site by Dublin County Council. It was proposed to demolish the existing, derelict, two-storey brick house, and build two two-storey, three-bedroom houses at the junction of Kimmage Road Lower and Ravensdale Park. The site lies just east of the Poddle culvert, which extends northward.
Two trenches were opened, one extending north–south, east of the culvert, and one east–west. There was no evidence of any archaeological deposits in the trenches opened. The stratigraphical profile of the trenches indicated that the ground comprised mainly introduced fill, of an extremely loose nature, especially in Trench 2, to a depth of 2.5m. No finds were retrieved during the assessment.
