Burnt-mound material was identified during the monitoring of drainage trenches carried out on the second contract of the Airport–Balbriggan Bypass. After discussions on safety issues associated with gaining access to the site, it was decided not to excavate the features identified. The site has been fenced off and preserved in situ.
