Eleven test-trenches were excavated in the grounds of Rosepenna Golf Club on the site of a proposed new pavilion and carpark. Testing was requested because because of the presence of a kitchen midden, now no longer visible. The testing exposed a uniformly natural stratigraphy of sod over medium-grained sand. There was no evidence of midden material from any of the trenches, now were any finds recovered.
