This project was undertaken at the request of the management committee of Glebe cemetery, Donegal town, in compliance with a condition regarding a proposed extension to an existing cemetery. One trench was mechanically excavated along the line of the proposed extension. It was oriented north-west/south-east, 35m long, 1m wide and 0.5–1.2m deep. The stratigraphy revealed consisted of topsoil (0–0.2m deep) overlying an orange/brown sterile clay with occasional small stones (0.2–0.9m deep). The stratigraphy indicated that this area had not been previously disturbed, and no artefacts or features of archaeological significance were encountered.
