During the monitoring of ground disturbance associated with the treatment works site, the removal of topsoil revealed a light brown, natural subsoil that was sterile throughout. A number of channels were dug through the subsoil to allow for drainage. A protective membrane was then placed on top of this layer, and the area was backfilled with stone. Finds retrieved consisted of occasional fragments of 20th-century pottery and glass. No features/deposits of archaeological significance were encountered during monitoring.
