Monitoring of topsoil removal at Maydown Industrial Estate was undertaken before development of this site by Invest Northern Ireland. Topsoil monitoring revealed evidence of nineteen subsoil-cut features, spread across the 4ha site. The features, all pits of varying sizes, did not appear to have any direct relationship with each other. The only artefacts recovered were sherds of Bronze Age pottery, found in the fills of some of the pits.
