Six trenches were opened across the site. An old ground surface and some disturbance were noted; however, the finds retrieved from these indicated that they were associated with the mid-/late 19th- and 20th-century buildings on the site, a bakery and a garage. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during these investigations.
