Monitoring was carried out at Campsie Industrial Estate before development of the 6ha site by Invest Northern Ireland. Two distinct areas of archaeological activity were identified during topsoil removal. The first consisted of five pits and an associated occupation horizon. Artefacts of Neolithic date were found both within the occupation material and in the fills of some of the pits, comprising pottery, a porcellanite axehead, a flint knife and a flint spall. The second area of activity consisted of nine features including stake-holes and small pits. No artefacts were retrieved from any of the fills of these features.
