The excavation of trenches for ground-beams for a townhouse and apartments at 14–15 Travers Street and 12 Cove Street was monitored. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential of Cork city and is also close to St Nicholas’s Church (SMR 74:122(40)). Previous testing of the site had uncovered disarticulated human remains.
A number of foundation trenches were excavated across the site; however, no ground disturbance took place at the southern end of the site, where previous investigations had uncovered human remains. No finds or features were revealed during monitoring.
