A development site at Bawnleigh, Ballinhassig, was within the zone of archaeological potential of a standing stone. Five test-trenches were mechanically excavated across the proposed footprint of the foundation of a house that has recently been granted planning permission. An additional trench was excavated in the proposed location of the septic tank. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed.
