Monitoring was undertaken at Main Street, Ardgroom village, Ardgroom Outward, Beara, in September 2002. The proposed development was situated on the western side of Main Street and, at the time of inspection, consisted of a gap site in a terrace of houses. The concrete surface for the previous building was broken out and removed, exposing a deposit of grey sand and gravel interpreted as fluvioglacial deposits. The foundations were excavated through this material, and a sample section was cleaned and recorded. No archaeological features or objects were identified.
