Monitoring was carried during topsoil-stripping for the construction of the Bord Gáis Éireann Pipeline to the West, which revealed a previously unidentified fulacht fiadh. The site consisted of an oval spread of burnt stone lying above a stone-lined trough or pit. It was subsequently excavated by the writer (see No. 201, Excavations 2002, 02E0087).
