A second programme of testing was carried out at the site of a proposed visitor centre and access path close to St Fineen’s Church and Quin Friary on 20 and 21 February 2002. The works comprised the testing in its entirety of the line of the new path adjacent to St Fineen’s Church. This involved the mechanical excavation of an uninterrupted trial-trench, 120m long and 1.2m wide. No material of archaeological interest was discovered.
