Testing was carried out at Doonass before the proposed erection of a telecommunications mast. This required the construction of a site compound and an access road. The nearest monument, an enclosure (SMR 54:12), lies 250m to the west of the development. An inspection revealed this site to be a large circular barrow.
Four trenches were excavated in the proposed development area. No archaeological features or artefacts were observed during the testing.
