The site was exposed during monitoring of topsoil-stripping along Section 3 of the Bord Gáis Éireann Pipeline to the West, from Goatisland, Co. Limerick, to Gort, Co. Galway. Investigation of the site revealed a shallow natural depression filled with decayed stone, proving that the feature was non-archaeological. No further analysis of the site was required.
