Five trenches were dug by machine to test the archaeological merit of several banks and mounds and an upright stone. The site is shown on the 1840 OS map as two conjoined enclosures. They are no longer extant. None of the trenches yielded archaeological material. However, based on the topography of the site, it is likely that the two conjoined enclosures were cashels, the walls of which were dismantled for the reuse of the stone (there is a vernacular farmstead to the south-west of this site). Subsurface remains relating to the occupation of these enclosures may still be present on the site.
