This site was examined as part of Bord Gáis Éireann’s Pipeline to the West. A small patch of dark soil was observed during monitoring. Subsequent excavation established that this was surface burning 1–2mm thick. The deposit was not within a cut feature and was in an area where the stripped topsoil had a minimum depth of 0.05m. Consequently, it is thought that the deposit was not of any antiquity and should not be considered archaeological.
