Testing was carried out here as part of the N18 Road Improvements, Dromoland to Crusheen, including the Ennis Bypass. Seven trenches were opened by machine at this location, described as an area of archaeological potential. Trenches 1–3 were 20m long, and Trenches 4–7 were 10m long. No archaeological features were noted in any of the trenches, all of which were excavated down to the underlying natural material.
