Testing was carried out here as part of the N18 Road Improvements, Dromoland to Crusheen, including the Ennis Bypass. A low subcircular mound, measuring 14m north–south by 12m, was examined. A trench measuring 20m east–west by 1.5m was opened by machine across the site. The mound was found to be natural and not of archaeological merit.
