This site was examined as part of Bord Gáis Éireann’s Pipeline to the West. A concentration of limestone pieces was observed during monitoring. This material was thought to perhaps indicate a stone-filled pit. Subsequent excavation established that the limestone was naturally occurring (perhaps damaged by stripping machinery) and that no archaeological features or deposits were present.
