Testing was carried out here as part of the N18 Road Improvements, Dromoland to Crusheen, including the Ennis Bypass. This site, a low mound, was identified as a possible fulacht fiadh. A single trench was opened across the site, measuring 8m north–south by 1.5m. It proved to be a clearance cairn of modern origin and not of archaeological significance.
