Testing was carried out in the area of a proposed two-storey dwelling with driveway, septic tank, percolation area and reserve percolation area at Kilconnaught, Hacketstown. The proposed develop-ment lies in a field where a miscellaneous burial site (SMR 4:59(01)) and a settlement site (SMR 4:59(02)) were recorded. No features of archaeological significance were uncovered during the excavation of six test-trenches, and no artefacts of archaeo-logical significance were recovered.
