Monitoring took place of the groundworks for a residential development. In the adjacent field to the south was the site of Clonogan Castle, a tower-house (SMR 18:13(01)). A rectangular area, 24.5m by 22.1m, with a driveway, 25m by 4m, was stripped of topsoil using a mechanical digger with a 3ft (0.9m) toothed bucket. The topsoil varied from 0.2m to 0.4m deep and lay above grey/yellow boulder clay. No archaeological materials were found during monitoring.
