Redevelopment at the rear of the ‘Prince’s Buildings’, Ann Street, Belfast, on land owned by Jamison & Green Ltd, necessitated the monitoring of five engineering test-pits. Examination of these pits indicated that much of the area had been comprehensively excavated and refilled with brick rubble during the 19th/20th century. However, wall footings/wall foundation layers revealed in Test-pits 1 and 5 may require archaeological monitoring/ excavation at a later date.
