Rescue excavation, from 13 to 17 March 2001, of a deposit of discoloured soil beside a stream revealed the remains of a spread of burnt stone and soil, with the possible remains of a centrally placed rectangular trough, suggesting that this was the remains of a fulacht fiadh. No datable features or objects were uncovered. The stratification of the overlying layers of soil shows that the site had been partially washed away by flood waters and subsequently buried by a landslide, as well as by natural deposition.
