Testing was undertaken on 24–25 January 2001, in advance of the proposed Baltinglass Water Supply Scheme, in the general environs of Baltinglass Abbey. Although no features, structures or deposits of archaeological interest were uncovered, ten sherds of medieval pottery and one fragment of medieval floor tile were recovered.
Monitoring of topsoil-stripping associated with the scheme was subsequently carried out under licence 01E0878 (see Excavations 2001, No. 1337).
