Monitoring was carried out during the construction of a new house near a possible ring-barrow, SMR 30:1. The excavation of the foundation trenches and septic tank trench were monitored. The site was at the top of a drumlin overlooking a nest of drumlins to the south and east. The ring-barrow was c. 100m away.
A 19th-century house was due for demolition as part of the planning permission. This was recorded by photographic survey after discussions with Dúchas.
The trenches were excavated to an average depth of 1.3m, with the dark brown sandy silty clay topsoil having an average depth of 0.42m. The septic tank trench measured 2.3m north–south by 1.2m and was 1.9m deep.
No archaeological deposits were found.
