The site of the proposed development is east of Ballymore town along the road to Smithstown, within the townland of Clonyveey. An assessment was carried out on the site in advance of the construction of 21 dormer bungalows and associated works. Eight trenches were excavated. One of the trenches revealed archaeological stratigraphy in the form of post-medieval cultivation furrows, while three of them contained modern field drains. No other archaeological features, deposits or finds were present.
