All groundworks were monitored in September 2001 on a site at Cork Road, Waterford. The client proposed to construct 125 apartments in four blocks with associated basement car-parking and a complex consisting of leisure centre, swimming-pool, pub, restaurant and retail services.
A cluster of circular pit-like features was uncovered approximately 5m south of the northern boundary. On examination it was discovered that they contained material of a late 20th-century date and were most likely modern garden pits.
No archaeological remains were uncovered during the monitoring of this site.
