Pre-development testing was carried out on this proposed housing development as the site is within the constraint area of St Stephen’s Church, graveyard and leper hospital. A series of trenches were opened across the site with the aid of a mechanical digger. Each of the trenches was excavated into underlying subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
