Testing of a proposed house site, together with trenches across the drive and the line of the sewer, produced no features or deposits of archaeological significance. The site lies by the Ballina–Birdhill road and is overlooked from the north-east by the ruins of Cloghaneena tower-house and from the south by Templeachally Church, which lies across a stream forming the townland boundary.
