This flat field lies close to three cashels, SMR 3:6, 7 and 8. SMR 3:8 no longer exists above ground. There may have been a fourth cashel between 3:6 and 3:7 though the evidence on the ground is not as convincing as an aerial photograph in the possession of the writer.
All soil-stripping was monitored within the overall area, 36m by 25m. Also monitored were the access from the road, the percolation area and the access to it.
The work proved very difficult owing to the presence of many large sandstone boulders in a thin grey to light brown to orange soil cover. There was no sign of stone clearance from this garden, which is reputed to have produced good crops of potatoes.
There were no archaeological finds.
