Monitoring of topsoil-stripping took place at Caltragh in June 2001 prior to the construction of a new compound along the proposed Sligo Inner Relief Road. This field was to the south of a newly identified prehistoric complex at Caltragh.
No archaeology was encountered in this part of the townland. Sparse modern activities, probably associated with the nearby farmyard, were exposed in the field during the monitoring.
