Monitoring took place of an extension to the rear of the O’Gara Hotel on Abbey Street. The proposed development is within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town of Roscommon. The excavation of foundation trenches across an area measuring 20m by 30m was monitored. No archaeological remains or features were uncovered, and most of the excavated material appeared to have been dumped in the last century.
