This proposed private residence was within the demarcation limits of an archaeological complex consisting of two enclosures and a road; none of these elements is within at least 100m of the development. However, before testing, a previously unrecorded fulacht fiadh was found in the same field. The boundary fence (of timber post and rail) for the house was to be no closer than 6m to the eastern limits of the fulacht fiadh, leaving the monument outside the holding. From the seven test-trenches cut, not a single artefact was uncovered. A fine rich brown clay overlay a grey gravel, orange daub or loose limestone boulders.
