Test excavation was undertaken in advance of construction of a private dwelling. The site lies adjacent to Ballintober Castle. It is also within the zone of archaeological potential around Ballintober town, SMR 34:4. Six test-cuttings were excavated. No definitive archaeological features were identified. It was recommended that all groundworks associated with this development be monitored by an archaeologist.
