An assessment was undertaken in advance of a landscaping project within the rear garden of a domestic property to the south-east of the ecclesiastical complex of St Ciaran in an area of archaeological potential and within the boundaries of the registered monument. The assessment consisted of five trial-trenches. All revealed similar stratigraphy, consisting of garden soil and modern rubble, which overlay the natural sand esker. The only archaeological material recovered consisted of animal remains, which had been buried on the site in the recent past (information from the occupier). No archaeological features or deposits were exposed.
