Excavation took place here between 25 June and 2 July. The site appeared as a dark stain in the natural brown sandy subsoil at 75.64m OD. A number of other features were also cut into the subsoil, including a linear feature 2.2m wide, filled with dark soil, and three parallel linear features, on average 0.3m wide. Investigations of the fifteen features initially identified proved that they were not archaeologically significant. The linear feature was a modern field boundary; the parallel features were modern cultivation lazy-beds. The dark stain which initially prompted the archaeological investigation was found to be a burnt-out tree bowl. Other features were found to be natural rotted stone or the result of animal activity. Following consultation with DĂșchas, no further archaeological conditions or mitigation were recommended for the site.
