An assessment was carried out on a proposed residential development site at Louth village, Dundalk, Co. Louth. The site of the proposed development is within a medieval borough, an area of archaeological potential as identified in the Urban Archaeological Survey of County Louth, and is possibly located within the early monastic enclosure (D. Murphy, pers. comm.). Three test-trenches were excavated in the area of the proposed development. No finds were recovered and no features of archaeological significance were exposed within the trenches.
