The project involved monitoring the dredging of the berth pocket adjacent to the quay wall at Greenore Harbour, Co. Louth. The harbour was dredged to a maximum depth of 12m. The material excavated was deposited into a disposal barge and dumped in Carlingford Lough. An underwater team was on standby in the event of any archaeological deposits, artefacts or features being uncovered in the course of monitoring. The vast majority of the material dredged consisted of silt, with pieces of discarded machinery. No artefacts/features of archaeological significance were found.
