This field (field 11) was investigated as part of pre-development testing in advance of the Limerick Southern Ring-Road Project. In all, nine trenches, each measuring 10m by 10m, were opened by mechanical excavator. One feature of archaeological merit was uncovered, and this was subsequently excavated under licence 00E0850 ext. by Avril Hayes (see No. 806, Excavations 2001).
