This field (field 8) was investigated as part of pre-development testing in advance of the Limerick Southern Ring-Road. The archaeological material uncovered consisted of four isolated deposits, five groups of more than one deposit and one archaeological complex. The archaeological complex appeared to be a multi-period site, dating from at least the Bronze Age to Early Christian times. Two intercutting slot-trenches, a smaller slot-trench, several pits and linear features were uncovered as part of the complex. Surface finds included possible Bronze Age funerary pottery and a fragment of an Early Christian glass armlet. This site was subsequently excavated by Frank Coyne (see No. 791 Excavations 2001, 01E0214).
