The monitoring of the demolition of six two-storey terrace houses took place in October 2001. The houses were located within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town of Limerick and were directly above the site of the medieval Dominican Priory of St Saviour’s. This work was undertaken after a programme of test-trenching. The demolition of the site revealed 27 architectural fragments ranging in date from the 13th to the 15th century. The sandstone examples are probably part of the original 13th-century medieval priory, either from the church itself or the cloister. The 15th-century fragments included limestone fillets and roll-mouldings.
