Eighty-three test-trenches, each measuring 10m by 10m, were opened across two fields in this townland in advance of the construction of the route of the Limerick South Ring-Road. The general stratigraphy encountered in both fields consisted of a grey/brown silty loam topsoil layer, averaging 0.2m in depth, which overlay a yellow/brown silty clay subsoil. No archaeological features or finds were encountered.
